Buyers of the 2021 Wrangler have a wide choice of powertrains to consider. All models are all-wheel drive and offer a choice of six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, but the engine outputs vary from the solid to the outstanding.
At the entry level, a 3.6L V6 gas engine makes 285 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque, while a new V8 option makes a mammoth 470hp to set off-road hearts racing.
Diesel devotees are catered for with a 3.0L V6 turbo pushing out 260hp and 422lb-ft of torque, while the 4xe trim adds hybrid technology with a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470lb-ft. This latest drivetrain can power the Wrangler from 0-100kmh in a shade under six seconds, while delivering a fuel economy of just 4.7L / 100km.
Open-Air Off-Road Adventures
As with all Wrangler models, the 2021 release offers an invigorating option to enhance your off-road adventures. The sides, roof, and windshield can all be individually removed in a few easy steps, taking you closer to the trail for an amazing open-air experience.
Interior and Infotainment
But for all its off-road excellence, the Wrangler's interior still offers a thoroughly modern and comfortable experience. All models are fitted with an infotainment touchscreen of either 7" or 8.4" in size, with smartphone integration handled by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. The Sport 4x4 trim of the 2021 Wrangler is the entry level and has a starting price of $37,665. The Unlimited Rubicon trim occupies the top end with an MSRP of $59,995, and is available with either a gas powertrain or as the hybrid 4xe.
