Engines and Performance

Engines and Performance

The Ram 3500 can be purchased in three engine formats. The 6.4-litre HEMI V8 eight-speed automatic engine comes standard with all trims. Two engine upgrades are available: the 6.7-litre Cummins I-6 turbocharged six-speed automatic will cost an additional $9,450, or the 6.7-litre I-6 turbocharged diesel six-speed engine that’ll cost an additional $11,950. All trims are available in 4x2 or 4x4 powertrain configurations.

The F-350 is available in three engine configurations. The 6.4-litre eight-cylinder gas engine, the 6.7-litre six-cylinder engine, and the 6.7-litre six-cylinder diesel engine produce 400 horsepower. The F-350 has a maximum towing ability of 15,000 pounds and can carry a maximum payload of 3,550 pounds.

The Ram can tow a maximum of 24,100 pounds and has a much larger payload capacity of 4,280 pounds. The Ram 3500 will be a better choice if you’re in the market for a more powerful diesel engine configuration with significant towing and hauling capabilities.
